Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey Show People What Civil Rights Are

Published / by TheRugbyUnion

Civil rights are the fundamental rights that people are granted simply for existing. They are something that nobody can take away and they are things like the right to pursue happiness, the right to work for a living and other rights that are similar to things like that.

They cannot be taken away but some police and government forces believe that they can infringe on these rights so that they will be able to get what they want.

They do not value the people who have these rights and they do not provide any type of support to the people who are trying to feel comfortable with these rights. All of this is something that will make it easier for people to try and have a better life but it makes things harder for them when they are doing different things for their own good. While these rights are necessary, some people do not believe that they are. For that reason, there are civil rights groups that are fighting to make sure that people have these rights and that they are going to be protected no matter what goes on in their own lives.

This is something that will continue to make sense for the people who are trying to fight civil rights cases and who are trying to make things better for people who are in different situations from what the others are in. It is also something that makes more sense for the people who are trying to do different things with their careers and with their lives.

Immigrant rights are similar to civil rights and they are able to be infringed on too. In fact, immigrants are often subject to bigger civil rights issues than citizens are and that is a huge problem. In places like Phoenix, which is a border city, there are many problems that people have to deal with and that are not going to be able to make things better for people.

The people who are in these situations have to deal with issues that they don’t know about and they even have to fight them on their own without any help.

Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey want to fix that and that is the reasons why they started the Frontera Fund. Instead of the way that other organizations work, they try to make sure that they are doing things the right way for people who are trying to become citizens and who are immigrants.

They want to help their own civil rights and they want to make sure that they are showing people what they can get out of the situations they are in. By helping immigrants, Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey know that they can make things better for everyone.

FOUNDERS JIM LARKIN AND MICHAEL LACEY STILL ON THEIR ENDLESS EFFORTS AGAINST OPPRESSION

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are founders of Frontera Fund a non-profit organization that assists both immigrants and migrants to fully know their rights. Larkin and Lacey formed this organization after being paid 3.75 million dollars as a settlement to compensate for being unlawfully detained. The two newsmen were arrested at their homes by the Maricopa County agents on the counts of releasing information about an ongoing investigation being conducted by the grand jury. The agents were following orders from their Superior Sheriff Arpaio. Joe Arpaio was completely tired of the continuous disclosure of the rot in his department by the New Times newspaper.

At that time Jim was the Chief Executive Officer of a newspaper company(Village Voice Media) while Michael took the role of an executive editor at that company. Prior to their arrest, the two newsmen had disseminated an article relating to the grand-jury investigation in one company’s publications. After series of court cases and appeals, the court ruled that the two newsmen were arrested wrongfully without sufficient evidence. The court also found that Sheriff Arpaio and his agents had violated the First Amendment Rights of Lacey and Larkin. As a result, the two newsmen were released and Arpaio who self-declared himself as ‘Toughest Sheriff’ was charged with the count of criminal contempt by Judge Bolton.

The Frontera Fund organization has now made it its agenda to handle this type of cases and help those who have been oppressed by law enforcement officials who think they are above the law. The two newsmen then launched the Front page Confidential, an online website that reports on threats relating to First Amendment and freedom of speech. In spite of the fact that Joe Arpaio won’t be in jail for his activities, the decency that is finished by Frontera organization should fix a portion of the harm that Arpaio has done to people.
