OSI is the premier and largest global supplier of custom food products. It was started as a family-owned meat market and butcher shop in the Chicago area as Otto & Sons. Otto Kolschowsky found it in 1909 in the USA. People would continue the operation and later create the most significant partnership in their career. It started within a simple deal contract. Their shop was selected by McDonald’s. First, as a leading supplier of fresh ground beef in 1955, which was only a 7-year-old restaurant company, started early in 1948 by brothers Maurice (“Mac”) and Richard McDonald in San Bernardino, California. In the continuous succession of the newly founded company from the first deal, created a great partnership as Otto & Sons opens a plant as a first dedicated facility for McDonald’s at West Chicago, Illinois, the USA in 1973.

Until now The OSI remains as McDonalds number 1 and big trusted partner for its promised safe, fresh and high quality meat producers for almost 60 years. It was supplying the required demand of the food chains with an average 5 million hamburgers roll off the belt each day, enjoyed by a lot of people around the world. The OSI Group is still chosen to be the meat supplier of McDonalds franchised stores outside the US. Meanwhile, OSI Group has entered a new partnership to produce the popular meatless burger for Impossible Foods, as faced with a scorching challenge of the supply-demand problem of Impossible Burgers in the market.

This has resulted in OSI Group’s supporting the consumers trending demand of Burger King’s Impossible whooper and helping Impossible Foods to fulfill the increasing demand of trending food innovation of Meatless Burgers around the market. The partnership seems not a problem for OSI Group and McDonald’s as it brings a beneficial profit for the company as it a lot of ideas on food innovations which is OSI Group focuses for almost a century and continues to develop and commit to the sustainable food production. Kevin Scott, the senior executive vice president at OSI North America, said different statements in regard to this new offering.
